Federal and state laws require each local school district to provide free appropriate public education to all students with disabilities
ages 3-21 years. This means services are to be provided:
- without charge to parents including evaluation recommendations
- in conformity with an appropriately developed individualized education program (IEP)
- at public expense, under public supervision and direction
- that include preschool, elementary, and high school education that meet the education
standards, regulations, and administrative policies and procedures issued by the state
- by properly certified staff
